Significance of This Course


"Recite Surah al-Baqarah, for to take recourse to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of regret, and the magicians cannot confront it" (Sahih Muslim 804)

This course is structured to give you a detailed understanding of this blessed surah, while familiarising you with the beauty of the Arabic text. The word to word translation, word analysis, and root letters enrich your comprehension of the kalaam of Allah Almighty and the tafseer sessions help strengthen your bond with Him and His divine message. 

Doing the tafseer of this Surah should undoubtedly be made a mandatory part of every Muslim's life.

Course Pattern

This short course is an in-depth Tafseer programme of Surah al-Fatihah and Surah al-Baqarah. It has been structured for students who want to undertake a study of the Qur'an on a more serious level yet are unable to make long term commitments.

While the content is fairly extensive, this course allows students to study it at their own pace, yet be part of a structured program.

The Tafseer class will be held once a week, and the medium of instruction will be English.

The class will be a pre recorded session under the guidance of an experienced teacher who will facilitate the class and interact with the students.

There are no mandatory group sessions, and thus students can navigate their study schedules conveniently as per their own convenience.

There will be a live review session by Sister Farheen held regularly to enable students to clarify doubts and have a direct interaction with the teacher.

Students who cannot join the live moderated session will have access to the Tafseer recordings and can hear it later. 

Registered students will be given a set of weekly questions to facilitate their study of the weekly lesson.

The student WhatsApp group can be used by all students to share reflections, express their experiences and bond with the student family.

The minimum age limit for this course is 13 years. There is no maximum age limit.



Quizzes & Tests

MONTHLY QUIZ

There will be a monthly quiz uploaded on the student dashboard at the end of each month. This quiz will be in a multiple choice format and is for self evaluation only. Students can attempt this quiz multiple times and benefit from this revision. 

NOTE: The results of these quizzes will have no impact nor consequence on the student's overall performance nor certification. These will be for the purpose of student satisfaction and revision only.

TERM TESTS

There will be two term tests in the entire course duration. One mid term test  and one end term test. These tests will also be in a multiple choice pattern, but the number of attempts will be restricted to three only. Serious students must prepare well for these tests as they will have an impact on the student's overall performance.

NOTE: These tests are mandatory for students who want to successfully complete the course and acquire certification. The passing marks for these term tests are 80%.

  • Registration Commences on : 11th April 2026

  • Course Duration : 10 months

  • Course Commencement : 17th April 2026

  • Course Completion : 5th February 2027 (Term 2 test after Ramadan '27)

  • Days : Every Friday (attendance optional)

  • Class Timings : 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm (GMT), 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm (UAE), 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm (IST), 10:00 am to 12:00 noon (ET)

  • Holidays : The classes will be closed for one week in May (for Eid ul Adha), the entire month of August (for summer break) and last week of December (for winter break)

The course fee will be made as a one time payment of $75 (US dollars) only.

    Course reference material will be provided only to students registered for the certified course. This will include pdf of the Noble Qur'an text book, weekly questions, weekly recitation audios for practice and other material as when required.

    Additional time slots have been allotted for certified students so that you can connect with your Tafseer teacher directly. These review sessions will be live interactive sessions, and a good opportunity to clear your doubts.

  • Evaluations

    Monthly quizzes will be uploaded for self evaluation. These assessments help students identify their weak areas and improvise on them. Besides, there will be a detailed test at the end of each term.
